Tonight Tonight Tonight

I am reading some tweets on stage at this show here:

If you check out the lineup it’s filled with a lot of great, super funny people so I hope you guys can go. Also I am missing my best friends birthday to do this and I feel like complete shit for it. He says he understands completely and knows stand up is the only thing that makes me happy which is great but I can’t help but feel super guilty. UGH

I hope you can make it to one or both shows and maybe we can kiss and slow dance afterwards

I booked a show in LA at the end of the month
Friend: I saw your stand up video. I'm not surprised I'm just impressed.
Me: Whoa. Your compliments are making me uncomfortable I don't believe you.
Friend: Tracy you're the stupidest person alive.
Me: See that I believe.

um ok here’s my set from January, it’s technically my second time doing stand up ever. please be gentle and kind. I’m not posting this anywhere else because this is my only “safe” place.

making mom proud!!!

making mom proud!!!

FINALLY!

I finally performed stand up comedy for the, technically second time but this was an actual real show.

I wasn’t nervous up until right before I was going to go on. I was mostly afraid of looking inexperienced since I am inexperienced. I didn’t care if no one laughed because that’s going to happen a lot when I first start out and even when I’m doing it 10 years from now.

I went up first.

The lighting in the place was awful! (I could see everyones faces). I looked above the crowd to avoid any eye contact and started my set. AND PEOPLE LAUGHED such a rush and relief and you get this vibe from the crowd and it really keeps you going. It happened so fast I can’t even go into details on any of it. I seriously have no fucking confidence that I can’t even write that I did good even though everyone told me I did and said I killed and some random dude I don’t even know came up to me after the show and told me I was funny. One of my friends even recorded it on her phone so whenever we upload it I’ll share it with you guys.

I already have three shows booked next month. SHIT IS FINALLY HAPPENIN’ OVER HERE

asked one of the greats for some advice for my first show/second time ever performing stand up. (this is me bragging sorry) (also I’m pretty sure she meant throw not through)
oh and I’m performing stand up on sunday at some bar three towns over. I’m nervous and excited at the same time. I wasn’t that into it at first and I wasn’t even going to talk about it on here until afterwards but I had fun working on it the other night and like she said, I have nothing to lose.

I don’t want to pay $5 to see you read tweets. I could be at home with no pants on reading your tweets. I live far too so please don’t make me waste my gas and time to see you read tweets. I’ve seen and heard that a lot of people (who claim to be comedians) do this and that’s really fucking annoying. It sucks cause they are actually really funny on Twitter but then I hear about or see them perform and I’m like, “whaaaat? This is bullshit”. I’m super close to making a video of me performing my set and me reading the tweets that inspired that set to show the difference between the two.

Stand up mini update

I thought I mentioned this to you guys before but maybe I didn’t cause I didn’t mention it to my open mic buddy (@bitterjojo) and we update each other about everything.

About two towns over from where I live there is a comedy club that has you audition first and then they book you to perform. All you have to do is perform a three minute set. Auditions used to be on Thursdays but now they’re on Saturdays and today is Saturday but I’m not going. A couple of weeks ago I stopped working on stand up for a few weeks because I thought, and maybe this was self-sabotage, that I didn’t want to do it anymore. I think it was more of a lack of self confidence but after much thinking I realized that this is what I want to do and can’t picture myself doing anything else.
I did write a three minute set. The theme to it is suicide (my favorite!). I think it’s a pretty good set with good transitions (something I’m not that great at doing). The only problem is that it’s not really three minutes more like 2:10 but I figure my awkwardness and nervousness would count for 50 seconds.
If all goes well I should be auditioning to perform next Saturday. Wish me luck please I am going to need it!
